Biodiversity comes to the construction site!

Earlier this week I was standing on site in the sunshine and amazed to see a female blackbird, with a worm in her mouth, perch momentarily on some scaffolding and then fly into the concrete shell of the new Study Centre – a lovely cool place at the moment to be raising chicks.

Her nest is one of several on the ISG site, and I am reassured that the team are taking great care not to disturb them. The construction team have moved a couple of the nests to quieter locations (quite difficult on such a busy and noisy site) and surrounded the nests with boxes for protection.
